Sklář 8°
The 8% malt extract Sklář is a lovingly brewed single-mash beer, the kind that was historically drunk in the region and would have been found in all of the sweltering local glassworks. When creating the recipe, we placed emphasis on its lightness. Primarily intended to quench thirst, the lightness of the beer is also due to its duller colour and corresponding bitterness. We solely brew it with Moravian malt and granulated hops from Žatec, which add to the beer’s lightness. Like our other beers, we prepare Sklář to the right degree in our boiler.
Luž 10°
We brew our classic unpasteurised Luž pale lager using double-mashing technology, Pilsner-type malt and Žatec hops. Compared to 12% malt extract beer, the fermentation of this recipe is slightly faster, and the beer stays in the tanks for about one month. Luž has a distinctly refreshing character with a pleasant long and bitter aftertaste.
Hvozd 11°
The 11% malt extract beer Hvozd, our only filtered, unpasteurised pale lager, is characterised by its golden colour, which is accentuated by its sparkling clarity. Gentle filtration reduces the beer’s yeasty taste. Since Hvozd is not pasteurised, its fresh and refreshing taste is preserved. The bitterness and fullness is just what is expected of an 11% malt extract light beer.
Klíč 12°
The 12% malt extract beer Klíč, a premium light lager, is brewed using the traditional double-mashing process. It is bottom-fermented at a low temperature in an open fermentation room, then matured in lager tanks for at least 40 days. Klíč is characterised by its higher bitterness and fullness, which in combination give it a balanced malty bitter taste. The recipe was created with a view to preserving the beer’s ‘old Bohemian’ taste, which is characterised by a golden to amber colour and a higher fullness of flavour with a malty after-taste.
