History
The restaurant is located in a three-storey Gothic building known as U Zídků House, which was built in the Middle Ages. The first mentions of the building date back to the 14th century. Over time it has undergone several Renaissance and Baroque renovations. In the 16th century, it was divided into two parts called Vačkářovský dům and Harcovnická poustka. The building acquired its present form in the 19th century, and was converted into a department store. The building has been protected since 1958 and has served various purposes, such as a private doctor’s surgery, shop and restaurant. The New Town Hall stands nearby the building.
Present day
In 2019, the interior of the ground floor and basement areas of the building underwent a complete renovation and the present-day Sladovna Restaurant was created. The name of the restaurant is taken from the restaurant of the same name located on the premises of the Cvikov Brewery.
